Vic Govt Budget Hosting Returns to Eye Media...
Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance selected Eye Media Australia to host the critical 09/10 budget launch website (www.budget.vic.gov.au) following issues with internal web hosting coping with budget peak demand last year. From the moment of going live on 5 May, the Victorian budget website hit a peak of 38 MB per sec, indicating thousands of simultaneous downloads of budget papers from business, students, media and the community. The initial minutes and hours from the moment of budget launch are the most massive periods of load on a state government website for the entire year - the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of printed pages. DTF returned to using Eye Media to support and host the launch this year from the company's Camberwell datacentre, where 2 dedicated servers were put in place to provide high speed downloads during the initial hours of massive demand.
Eye Media Selected for Emergency Services Hosting...
Following a competitive tendering process, Eye Media Australia has been selected as hosting provider for the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (the dial "000" people) The relationship will commence with Eye Media hosting and supporting the applications that alert media to the latest emergency services alerts, extracted from the call centre systems that manage fire, ambulance and police calls and dispatch. Four database and web servers will provide security, redundancy and load balancing for peak periods.

Eye Media Australia is developing a Web-based Work Instruction System for this International Leader in the glass and packaging industries. The system will allow the easy creation of simple to complex work procedures documents for workers, including step by step instructions, photographs and safety information, which can then be followed via industrial computer terminals in the various fabrication facilities.
